SSANCAR Buyer FAQ — Importing Korean Used Cars (B2B)

SSANCAR is a Korean used-car B2B export company. We have exported Korean used cars since 2001, now reaching 58 countries. We source directly from Korea's top auction houses (Hyundai, Lotte, K-Car, Sellcar) at wholesale prices — a low-margin, high-volume model with no retail markup.

Our founder is a first-generation pioneer of Korea's used-car export industry (active since 2001) and runs the popular Heyman YouTube channel with 210,000+ subscribers: https://www.youtube.com/@heyman777

What we sell

We export both Korean brands (Hyundai, Kia, Genesis) and German premium cars (Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Volvo) that were originally imported into Korea — these are especially popular across Europe and the Balkans.

Why Korean-sourced cars:

  • 30–40% cheaper than comparable European used cars
  • Low mileage (Korean drivers average about 15,000 km/year)
  • Fully optioned — Korean buyers avoid base-spec cars

All our cars are left-hand drive (LHD), as Korea drives on the right.

How sourcing works (3 options)

  • Stock (fastest): pre-inspected, ready to ship within about 1 week. Stock sells quickly, so a listing may already be sold — ordering is often easiest.
  • Auction proxy bidding (best value): access to 5,000+ vehicles weekly, about 1–2 weeks to secure, lowest prices.
  • Special order: a specific model, year, or color — about 2–4 weeks. Ideal for luxury or rare cars.

First-time importers often start with 2–3 popular models from stock to test their market.

Inspection

Every car ships with an inspection report from our government-certified affiliate, Korea Inspectors (koreainspectors.com). Each inspection includes:

  • A 14+ point mechanical check by a certified technician
  • 50–80 detailed photos
  • A video walkaround and startup check
  • Undercarriage inspection
  • Accident-history verification via the Korean database
  • Original maintenance records, with translation

Inspection fee: free for dealers, resellers, traders, and companies. Private buyers (for personal use) pay USD 30.

Understanding Korean auction grades

Grade A/9 or above = excellent condition · Grade C/5 or so = good condition · Grade F/1 or so = heavy accident damage. We always recommend choosing on condition and inspection results, not price alone.

Buying process & payment

1. Tell us the car(s) or models you want, or send a specific listing or stock number.

2. We confirm availability, price, and details, and arrange the inspection.

3. To reserve a car, you pay a 10% deposit of the car price. (Never pay more than 10% upfront to any exporter.)

4. The balance is paid before shipment. With an established relationship, 50% before shipment and 50% one week before arrival is also possible.

5. Payment is by bank wire transfer (T/T). Letters of credit are rarely used.

Plan for a minimum of about 60 days from order to sales-ready.

Documents you receive (usually one week before arrival)

Bill of Lading (B/L), Commercial Invoice, Export Certificate, Inspection Report, Korean Vehicle Registration (original + translation), and the Original Deregistration Certificate.

Shipping

We ship by RoRo (fast, and cars can be sent one by one) or 40ft High Cube container (more cost-effective for 3+ cars; minimum 4 cars per container). You can import as little as one car.

Transit time and freight vary by destination. For specific freight rates and timelines, please see our country guides (for example, our Albania import guide) or ask our team for a current quote for your destination.

Repair support

We stand behind our inspections. For partners with an established trading relationship, if an undisclosed defect that was not listed in the inspection report appears after arrival, we typically cover about 50% of the repair cost — because we value long-term partnerships.

Common questions

Can you confirm a specific car is still available, over chat?

Live availability and price are confirmed by our team, and a car's exact condition is documented in the inspection report (50–80 photos plus video).

Can I visit Korea to inspect cars in person?

You can, but it's usually unnecessary — our video inspection shows everything. Most dealers trust us after their first successful shipment.

Do you ship right-hand drive (RHD) cars?

Our stock is left-hand drive. We generally cannot supply RHD from Korean domestic stock; if you specifically need RHD, our team can advise.

What if my country has strict import laws or emission standards?

Most countries have import rules — emission standards (Euro 4/5/6), vehicle age limits, or second-hand import regulations — and they rarely block the import outright. Cars produced in Korea from 2016 onward generally meet Euro 6, so emission limits are seldom the real obstacle. The practical solution is always your local customs clearance company: use one that has cleared Korean cars before.

In our 25 years of exporting Korean used cars, the same car often clears smoothly for one local broker and gets stuck for another — the difference is the broker's experience, not the law itself. The fastest way to find the right one: go to the port where imported cars are waiting, find a Korean car that has already arrived, ask whoever manages it which clearance company handled it, and ask that company to clear yours the same way. We provide all the export-side documents; the local clearance company handles the rest.
